Making Music from Driving a Car ?

Sounds crazy and mad, but that's why I love them. Here is the latest OK GO music video. Enjoy!

from Zero to Hero

Recently, Jeremy Lin becomes a media sensation in USA after leading New York Knicks to three straight wins. He is a first Asian American Harvard Graduate who plays for NBA in almost 60 years. Actually I am not a fan of NBA or any other sports, but his story becomes an inspiration for everyone. What I learn from Jeremy Lin:

  • Never give up your dreams
  • Keep trying
  • Stay humble
  • You will never know that every single opportunity that you take may lead you to the success so don't waste it.

Salute to Jeremy Lin.

Revamp Olio Website

Above image is the original olio restaurant website, below images are the revamp of the olio website.

This is a part of school project as well. We need to choose one real website and revamp the look of the website. I kept the same concept, clean and simple. Olio provides affordable luxury, so the whole look must depict the luxury of dining, but not too much. The web was built using Adobe dreamweaver and Flash.

Flash Web Design

The website is fully made in Adobe Flash. It is my portfolio web design, based on school project. The concept behind, portfolio is like a doll house, which is full of mystery, playfulness, imagination and amazement. Honestly, this kind of style is pretty different from what I have done before, well it is not wrong to try something new, isn't it? yet people always keep saying,"Hey dude, Get off from that comfort zone"

Max Brenner Web Design

The overall website view is inspired by the warmness and the playfulness of the chocolate flavor. Max Brenner is created by bald man who obsessed with chocolate culture and turns it to a chocolate bar. The concept of Max Brenner is inviting people to see, to listen and to feel Max’s chocolate love story.

I Met the Walrus

This is very memorable, besides it really portrays an entertaining motion and animation, it has an interesting true story. Well this is what the story about....

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrators James Braithwaite and Alex Kurina have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack.

China Trip 2010

I went to China in order to visit my sister who studied chinese language in Xiamen University. It was  summer and honestly, it's freakin hot there. Surprisingly, Xiamen is voted as the cleanest city in China - well it is considered as a good record for China's hygiene grading. Within 3 weeks, I visited 3 cities - Xiamen, Shanghai (Cosmopolitan city), and Hang Zhou ( famous for its white snake legend). It was a really good experience, but always remember.. when you are in China always bring tissue for the toilet use (trust me, you don't wanna know the detail), don't go when it's summer, always bargain at least 50% of its price eps. when you are in Shanghai. Well the rest of the journey.. Just Enjoy..
After Shopping, Gulangyu Island
Old House at Gulangyu Island
7 Fishes, Gulangyu Island
Yu Yuan Square, Shanghai
Stripes on The Streets, Shanghai
Oriental Tower, Shanghai
Just Pray, Xiamen, China
Drying Clothes, Shanghai
Looking up, Shanghai

Tourist photo (Self-portrait) at Nanjing Lu, Shanghai

What I noticed when I was in China:
Gulangyu Island, Xiamen is known as a car free island and indeed it is true. I saw some old people carried different materials using traditional cart.

Instead of using pampers, local chinese used to put cloth diaper with a ventilation around vital area.

The Joy of less

In these modern societies, people live in the realm of materialism and consumerism. We always think the more you get, the better you are, but actually it seems that the more money you spend, the less important it seems. Are we neglecting the value of life and losing our selves in this materialism world? The joy of less gives the reflection about today’s generation in the consumerism world. It challenges and encourages the viewer to implement the culture of less by showing the reverse psychology between less and more.
